Welcome
to the North
West Model Aircraft Club (NWMAC). We are a radio controlled
model aviation club based on the outskirts of Derry / Londonderry in Northern
Ireland. Our
club's airfield occupies a 6 acre site and proudly boasts two runways, one of
which is tarmac and measures some 60 meters. We have approximately 50 members
of all ages flying both model airplanes and helicopters, and pride ourselves on
the warm welcome all visitors and friends receive at our club. So if you're in

At
NWMAC we aim to promote Radio Controlled Aero-modelling as an enjoyable and safe
hobby for all, and with our members ages ranging from 7 - 70 there's no excuses,
its never to late to take up RC model flying! We hope to make all newcomers
welcome to the sport and our club, and to ensure that they receive the correct
level of training in all aspects of model flying. We are also proud to boast two
fully qualified instructors helping all flyers get their wings, and a British
Model Flying Association (BMFA) appointed Area Chief Examiner helping us with
the BMFA achievement scheme. Club members enjoy unlimited access to our superb
flying site, we fly all year round. Mainly weekends in winter, and most days and
evenings in the summer months. Our main meeting time is on Sunday mornings, (fixed
wing & helicopters mixed), when you will find us on site from 11.30am - 2.00pm
(weather dependant). Thursday nights are our beginner training nights (fixed wing,
during spring / summer) and Tuesday nights are for our Helicopter enthusiasts.
